What we can read.
EOF Labs is deliberately limited to magnetic and optical storage. Supported means the relevant hardware path is on the bench. Expanding means we are actively adding it. Reference means we can identify the format and investigate a transport.
Supported
hardware represented in-houseLTO Ultrium
LTO-4 through LTO-7 read coverage using LTO-6 and LTO-7 drives. Compatibility is generation-specific.
LTO details →Floppy & SuperDisk
5.25-inch PC floppy, 3.5-inch DD/HD, 2.88 MB ED, and LS-120 / LS-240 hardware.
Floppy details →Magnetic removable disk
Zip hardware is represented. HDD-based RDX is in scope and represented; SSD-based RDX is not.
Removable disk →Optical
CD-ROM, CD-R/RW and ordinary DVD media are represented. DVD-RAM, MiniDisc and MO are separate cases.
Optical details →Expanding
current hardware build-outEarly LTO
LTO-1 through LTO-3 via an LTO-3 recovery transport.
DLT
Classic DLT centred on a DLT8000 path.
DDS / DAT
Selected DDS generations being added.
Parallel SCSI
Key interface expansion for older professional transports.

USB thumb drives, CompactFlash, SD and other memory cards, SSDs, NVMe and other semiconductor flash storage are intentionally excluded.
Support does not mean automatic file recovery
The medium is only the first layer. A readable tape or disk can still contain an unfamiliar block structure, filesystem, native Unix archive or proprietary backup stream. We recover the recording first and analyse the logical format separately.
